In the neighborhood I saw a woman—whom I know to be out of work—walking her dog. Approaching her, I asked if she knew about “Random Acts of Kindness.” She did, and seemed to be open to such an overture. When offered the ten dollars in the envelope in my possession; she said, “That would be wonderful. I’ll be able to do my laundry.”
It was heartwarming to be able to ease the burden of someone who was having a hard time of it.
