The class begins promptly at 8:30am and will last until 5pm. The cost will be $50 for Asburians and $75 for the general public.

You will need to bring your own handgun and AT LEAST 25 rounds of ammunition (we recommend bringing 50-100 rounds) for the shooting portion of the class. This will take place at Knapp Weaponry in the late afternoon. Knapp Weaponry is located at 2901 W Central, about 3 blocks West of Zoo Blvd and 4 blocks west of McLean Bvld.

You may bring handguns in the classroom, but NO AMMO WILL BE ALLOWED. This is in accordance with Kansas Law. Please leave your ammunition in your vehicle. If you are bringing firearms into the classroom, please arrive early, as the instructor will need to inspect them before class. Please ask the instructor if they are ready to inspect your firearm. Firearms should be presented with the action open, pointed in a safe direction from the moment they leave the case.

A one-hour lunch break will be given around noon. Lunch will not be provided. Please plan accordingly.

Asbury will be recognizing all of our graduating high school seniors on Sunday, May 19th. Our graduates will be introduced and prayed over at all services at all locations. Please turn in a baby picture and a senior picture to be included in a video presentation. Contact Matt Lowry if you need more information.

Mosquitoes are annoying. They can also cause serious health problems. These tiny insects spread diseases like West Nile Virus to humans and heartworms to our pets. The best way to avoid bites is to follow the three Ds:

DRAIN
Mosquitoes need water to reproduce, so eliminate all standing water around your home and worksite. Check pots, gutters, tires, tarps, wagons, wheelbarrows – anything that holds water. Change any standing water in wading pools, pet dishes and bird baths several times a week. And, use mosquito dunks, which can be found at home improvement stores like Lowe’s, ACE Hardware, Home Depot, etc., or mosquito-eating fish in ponds.

DRESS
Wear long, loose-fitting clothing when outdoors, especially at dawn and dusk hours, which is when mosquitoes are most active.

DEET
Use insect repellents that contain DEET. DEET is the safest, most effective chemical known to repel insects, including mosquitoes. Use according to package directions.
