Begins: Wednesday, January 18th
Spring Break: Wednesday, March 21st
Ends: Wednesday, April 25th
Join us as we use the sources of radio, tv, newspaper, and other media to weigh current events and topics against what God’s Word has to say about natural disasters, the world, the U.S., local politics, etc. No character assassination will be allowed! We will take a look at both liberal and conservative perspectives using the Word of God as our source of ultimate Truth.
Join us for a comprehensive look at the book of Romans from the New Testament. We will look at the context of some of the theological foundations found in Romans, study the culture to which the Apostle Paul was writing at the time, and see how to apply its principals of spiritual growth and discipleship to our lives.
This class will be centered around a Bible Study written by Max Lucado and addresses some of life’s hard questions. What does God’s Word have to say about hope, hurt, helping others, the home, the hereafter, and other life issues? Join us and find answers and encouragement.
Basic conflict-resolution skills found in Scripture can help you change your home from a battle zone to a love nest. Distinguishing between positive and negative conflict resolution, the study Peacemaking for Families introduces you to valuable principles such as "The Peacemaker’s Pledge," the "Seven A’s of Forgiveness," and the "PAUSE Principle of Negotiation."
This class will be based on the devotional by Kay Arthur and will include times of Prayer for staff, leadership, volunteers, missionaries, and other prayer requests. We will encourage one another to cultivate an active prayer life as we pray for the needs of others and ourselves.
Recently Asbury hosted Pastor James Murunga to present an introductory teaching on the prophetic ministry. This class will provide opportunities to dig in a little deeper in order to receive a clearer understanding of what all this means to us as individuals and as members of the body of Christ. Whether you sense a calling into this area or just want to know a little bit more, you will find this interactive class profitable for your Christian walk.
This class will explore the use of Sign Language in the context of Worship Services as well as an expression of Worship. You will learn various Praise and Worship songs as well as the fundamentals of Signing for general use. Online Classes: Confession Shhhh…. Is there something about you that you hope no one else ever finds out? You’re not alone. Everyone has secrets—hurts, abuses, bad habits, fears. Big or small, secrets can destroy you from the inside out. The good news is that confession is more powerful than secrets—or the fear that keeps you from telling them. Join us to form a closed Facebook group to study the book What’s Your Secret? Freedom Through Confession by Aaron Stern. The expectation is to post to the forum at least 3X per week over the current chapter. Our on-line community will share thoughts, responses and questions that explore the following: |
