December 16, 2011

On December 5th, 2011 20 Asbury participants assembled tubs that contain all the supplies that we will be taking to the Dominican Republic in January. We will leave Wichita on January 21st and return on Feburary 4th. As of now, there are 4 members of Asbury going on the trip: Sheri and JP Smith along with Brian Sullivan and Melissa Berkey. Brian attends the 8am service and Melissa attends Breakthru.

Our prayer requests include: unity and bonding of the team members, for the hearts of the Dominicans we will see and work with, health and stamina for the team, and God’s provisions for the logistics and details. If anyone is interested, we still have some financial needs for the purchace of medications that we are taking.

Cindi says they have driven up to visit with some of the girls.  There is a new girl named Diane who needs our prayers as she deals with the loss of her mother.  She is 7 years old.

They are still working on raising the full amount for the new school and dorm facility.  So far they have 66% of the purchasing price.  They still need to locate a new dorm facilities for the girls as the previous facility does not want them to return.  The Lord is in control; praying for discernment, courage, and faith to go where He wants.
They will have had a meeting with the Children’s District officer  to discuss the many girls needing assistance and visited the  USAID office to procure some additional textbooks for the upper primary grades.
The Mendozas are so thankful for all your prayers and love!  On a side note – Pray for Nancy, Rob, Debbie, and Susan in Congo. The Lord is moving in miraculous ways and they are experiencing intense spiritual warfare. Their group will be back at our house on the 26th of August.

Good Morning Special Friends,

We have some prayer needs if you could lift us up!

 Prayer requests:  :)
    a.  That the World Outreach people can get their website and Paypal account approved and up.
    b.  The people who would like to do a fb page will still be willing do to it after the delay.
    c.  The Lord will direct our steps and all those involved in the school property in Kenya.
    d.  If this building is the Lord’s will, Fred and I will be in agreement –
    e.  The Lord will provide all the funds necessary — lawyer, taxes, whatever.
    f.   Organize the timing  — school starts 9/1 for the girls and 8/12 for Lorenzo – so I feel we need to make a decision about the future.
    g.  The GA church is planning a Women’s Tea on Saturday morning — please pray the word will go forth with power, the Holy Spirit, and His perfect word.
    h.  Traveling mercies as we drive to GA — and Cindi will be flying back from AZ on Wednesday.
    i.  The people who need to be there, will be. — they also asked what else we needed.. can’t think except money for expenses for the girls, for our family, etc.
    j.  We have 5 girls sponsored and 2 ladies willing to sponsor the additional girls.   There are 14 girls total — so please pray all will be sponsored before we head back to Kenya.

THANK YOU!!!

Much love,
The Mendoza Family

God will use you so long as you are willing. :-)

“Jesus said, ‘I tell you, if two of you on Earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.  For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:19-20
