Are you interested in using the gifts God has given you by taking an active role in Asbury’s Worship Arts Ministry? Below are a number of ways you can get involved.
Worship Teams
Love to play or sing? With multiple weekend services at 4 different locations we are always looking for musicians to join us in leading others in worship on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. We have needs in various different instruments; such as drums, keys to guitars as well as spots open for both male and female vocalists. Our services also cover a wide variety of styles and sounds so you are sure to find a Worship Team that fits your musical background best.
Special Music
Enjoy singing but can’t commit to a full-time worship team? We have a number of special musical elements that take place throughout the year, including our group Vocal Ensemble which gathers to sing on particular occasions as well as individual vocal specials. Both are a great way to get involved without a full time commitment.
Drama
Have a flare for the dramatic? We often incorporate dramatic elements in our services through both video and live skits. If you and would be interested in being involved in a theatrical performance we would love to have you.
Tech Teams
More of a ‘behind-the-scenes’ type? It takes a lot more than just musicians to make our worship services run. We also have need in sound engineering, video/camera display and lighting during our Sunday services as well as help in video production for special service elements. If you are someone gifted in the technical aspects of worship we have a number of spots available. And don’t worry if you don’t know all there is to know. We have a number of knowledgeable people who will work to train and equip you in any area you may be interested in.
Usher/Platform Coordinator
We also have needs during our weekend services of those with gift of hospitality and organization to help us usher, welcome, and even plan and coordinate various parts of our weekend service. These positions are vital to the overall worship experience offered at Asbury.
When it comes to getting involved with a worship arts department we know it can be intimidating to think of using your gifts in such a way. Many times we feel afraid we can’t sing or play an instrument as well as someone else on stage and it can keep us from ever trying out. If you are interested we want to make it as easy and comfortable as possible. Just give us a call and we can set up a time to meet one-on-one to talk and hear where you are gifted and what you’re most interested in; no pressure!
If you would like to ask any questions, receive more information, or set up a time to meet please contact Pastor Pete Goodman, Worship Arts Pastor.
