Senior Pastor: Rick Just

Worship Pastor: Nathan Snyder

 Pastor Rick was appointed as the Senior Pastor of Asbury Church in 2015. He was ordained in 1994 after being called into ministry in 1988. He has been involved in leadership in the local church and beyond for many years including the Walk to Emmaus, Renewal and Revival ministries, and now leads on a local, regional and national level in the Global Methodist Church.

Nathan joined the Asbury Staff in 2019. He enjoys participating in the local music scene, songwriting, sports and video games. At Brewery Ministries, Nathan and his wife Nicole help facilitate discussions for those who are wrestling with questions and doubts.  Nathan studied the Bible in its ancient Near-Eastern context at AWKNG School of Theology.

 Bryonna has been attending Asbury since 2020 and joined staff in August 2024. She is a music teacher for special needs in Wichita Public Schools and has worked with teaching kids is a variety of areas including teaching swim lessons, teaching Wednesday night church, Sunday school, and music since 2011. She wishes to make Asbury an inclusive place for all children and youth of different backgrounds and abilities to learn to love and follow Jesus.  She is married to Harrison and has two adorable little girls.

 Wendy joined the staff in June 2015. She is a graduate of Heritage School of Evangelism and Communication and Friends University. She is the wife of Marc, mom to four great kids and grandma (Mudder) to eight amazing grandkids. Wendy likes all things music, photography, genealogy and travel.

  Kate is Ministry Coordinator here at Asbury Church and serves on the Leadership Team as Lead in our Hospitality/ First Impressions 

Department. Kate hit the jackpot when she married Mark Green, lead guitarist of Standing in the Colour, 10 years ago. Together they raise their two kids, Wren and Rook. Kate loves Jesus, people, community, books and builds wooden robots in her spare time.

Facility Manager & IT: Michael Teer

Sarah has been with Asbury since 2015. She is married to Tyler who puts up with her really loud laugh and love of flip flops. Sarah and Tyler have twin daughters to keep them humble and hopping. She loves Jesus, family and her slightly crazy golden retriever, Lincoln.

Michael has worked part-time as Asbury’s IT Specialist for the past 10+ yrs maintaining Asbury’s fleet of computers. Starting in 2017, Michael moved to full-time at Asbury as the Facilities Manager.  He maintains the Building and Grounds ensuring the congregation has a safe and comfortable time at Asbury.  In addition, he maintains Asbury’s vehicle fleet, and still maintains the computer and network.

Mary Jo has attended Asbury Church since 2011. In January 2016, she came on staff as      the Administrative Assistant. Before that she volunteered in the office. She loves working with the staff and the outings they have once a year. Mary Jo has four grown children, 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren AND two dogs, Hank and Zeke. Needless to say, there is always something going on in her household!

CDC & Preschool Kitchen Cook

Qualifications: 

  • Must Be at least 18-years-old
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a minimum of 12 months experience working in a licensed child care center
  • Must hold a Food Handlers Card

Additional Qualifications:

  • Each Employee must pass a KBI background check and comprehensive finger-print-based background check
  • Be free of physical or mental illness that would interfere with ability to perform job duties. 
  • Complete training in Food Allergies and Food Safety
  • Current Health Assessment and TB Test
  • Provide References
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to bend repetitively throughout the day
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Knowledge of proper food handling and storage
  • Knowledge of CACFP and food meal patterns
  • Knowledge of food allergies

General Requirements: 

  • Ensure food preparation areas are cleaned and sanitized
  • Wash and put away dishes
  • Using a variety of kitchen equipment
  • Wash and fold laundry
  • Clean kitchen according to kitchen cleaning list
  • Prepare meals and snacks in accordance with menu prepared
  • Unload/Check-in deliveries when needed
  • Set up meal carts
  • Ensure children with food allergies have a substitute
  • Ensure that food amounts are correctly served to the different ages of the classroom
  • Ensure proper food storage
  • Log refrigerator and freezer temperatures daily
  • Ensure food storage areas are kept clean and dust free
  • Ensure equipment is in good repair, if equipment needs replaced, notify director
  • Complete daily production records
  • Sweep and mop daily

Team Player Requirements:

  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisors to problem solve in a positive manner
  • Follow through with commitments
  • Give guidance and direction to Kitchen Assistant

Professional/Personal Responsibilities:

  • Project a professional appearance
  • Keep personal problems from interfering with ability to complete job duties as assigned
  • Keep cell phones off during work hours
  • Remain calm in all situations
  • Be prompt and reliable in attendance
  • Be flexible in assignments and schedules

Assistant Teacher

  • ·Previous experience working in a licensed center.
  • ·Teachers working with infant/toddlers must have 6 months experience with infant/toddlers in a licensed center.

Additional Requirements:

  • Each employee must pass a KBI background check and comprehensive finger-print based background check. 
  • Be free of physical or mental illness that would interfere with ability to perform job duties.
  • Complete or have completed First Aid/CPR, Child Development, Signs and Symptoms of Illness, Child Abuse and Neglect with Head Trauma, and SIDS. It is now required that all staff complete 9 hours of Emergency Safety Training.
  • Current Health Assessment and TB Test
  • Provide references.
  • Maintain 16 in-service hours. 
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend repetitively throughout the day and sit on the floor with children. 
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.

General Requirements:

  • Ensure each person is greeted upon arrival and departure in a positive and friendly manner.
  • Ensure safety, physical, and emotional well-being is maintained for all children.
  • Ensure children’s independence is fostered by teaching them to share responsibility for their classroom, belongings, and behavior.
  • Ensure patience and understanding when working with and teaching children and maintaining realistic expectations for their behavior. 
  • Assist Lead Teacher in completing required documents that include: Weekly Lesson Plans, Classroom Schedule, Children’s Assessments, Monthly Needs Lists, Point of Service Meal Count
  • Ensure bulletin boards and classroom parent boards are kept up to date.
  • Ensure that parent/caregiver relationships are strong with open lines of communication.
  • Attend meetings and training courses when scheduled.
  • Provide a relaxed, social setting for family style meal service according to CACFP regulations.
  • Ensure that CACFP regulations are implemented for every meal.
  • Ensure children are safe and secure on the playground.
  • Ensure classroom and schedules meet the KDHE regulations.
  • Understand Asbury CDC safety plans and procedures. 
  • Ensure that Chapel is attended and used as a time to respect the Lord.

Being a Team Player Requirements

  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisors to problem solve in a positive manner. 
  • Follow through with commitment.
